SOFT RELEASE

A soft release is a means by which an animal is gradually introduced or familiarized to a new environment before its eventual release in that location. This is a slow, gradual process that allows the animal to return to a safe resting place until it is ready to be completely independent.

A soft release needs the following:
You must own your own home.
Your yard must have a fence or vegetation (bushes, shrubs, etc)
You cannot have any dogs or outdoor cats.
Ideally, you should have a tree in your yard that does not hang over your roof.

The basics steps would include:
Releasing an animal on your property.
Food and water would be put out by you on a daily basis.
While some interactions with the animal are possible, they will be very limited.
All training will be provided.
This is a 1-3 week process

TEMPORARY REHABILITATOR

Due to travel, family engagements, and life in general there are times that we may find it difficult to give the full care needed for some of the rescues we help. When these times arise we look towards temporary rehabilitators to assist for short periods of time.

A temporary rehabilitator needs the following:
An area inside or outside that is roughly 10'x10' that pets will not have access to.

The basic steps would include:
We would set up a cage and deliver all materials needed (food, hay, etc.)
You would be responsible for cleaning the cage 1-2 times a day.
You would be responsible for feeding and caring for the animals 3-5 times per day.
All training will be provided.
Depending on the need, the time frame for this could range from 1 day to 2 weeks.
You will have direct contact with wild animals.

INFANT HANDLERS

Infant handlers assist in care of orphaned infants.

An infant handler needs the following:
A small area to put a 2'x2' cage and the willingness to bottle feed and care for wildlife infants.

You would be responsible for feeding and caring for the animals.
All training will be provided.
Depending on the need, the time frame for this could range from 1 day to 2 weeks.
You will have direct contact with wild animals.
